Totality!!!

I’ve been home for two days and I’m finally getting around to writing my blog post of the big event … experiencing totality.  Quick summary – all I can say that it is the first time that a major event has actually exceeded the hype.  It was, without a doubt, one of the coolest things I have ever experienced!

On Monday morning, we all got up early after another cold night of sleeping in tents and assembled for the one hour hike up about 1200 vertical feet covering two miles to the highest ridge overlooking the ranch and the central Oregon valleys to view the eclipse from a prime vantage point.


When we arrived at the summit, the eclipse had started and we could look through our eclipse glasses and see the moon begin to cover the sun.
