A Shorter Commentary on Romans by Karl Barth
A smaller and later companion to Barth's classic Epistle to the Romans of 1918. Originated as a manuscript for a course taught by Barth in 1940-41. More of a series of essays on each chapter of Romans than a traditional commentary. Excellent introduction to the Swiss Reformed professor and pastor who was the intellectual leader of the German Confessing Church - the Protestant group that resisted the Third Reich. |
